E PLURIBUS UNUM
FROM MANY, ONE: Sage wisdom from those who led this nation to independence and greatness.
The leftists say that the war on terror is being fought ineffectively. That could be so. It is difficult to wage a war when the nation is divided by opportunists, anti-American “activists”, Hollywood “intellectuals”, socialist senators and representatives, and by the elite, leftist media. That was proven during the war in Viet Nam. During that war, lack of unity gave aid and comfort to our enemy, prevented us from fighting the war to win, and ended in the loss of hundreds of thousands of American, Vietnamese, Laotian, and Cambodian lives.
The internal enemies of America equate isolated acts of military misconduct at Abu Ghraib prison with the Holocaust and with the mass murders committed by Stalin and Saddam Hussein. Today, even before there is an investigation, America’s leftist enemies condemn a Marine for killing an enemy who is part of a terrorist network of Muslims that just killed Margaret Hassan, a woman who has spent her life helping the people of Iraq. Leftists who prevent Americans from exercising their right to express their religious beliefs condemn our military for attacking mosques being used by the enemy as heavily armed hideouts.
If America does not unite against our most evil enemy yet and put national survival ahead of political opportunity, we will lose all that has been gained during the past 228 years. President bush has reached out to democrats throughout his entire first four years in office. He has renewed that effort with his reelection. Yet, the response form the left remains the same: divisive and self-righteous.
During this time when politics and ideology seem more important to the left than success in our war against terror, I am reminded of the words of Rudy Giuliani (May 19, 2004):
"Our enemy is not each other but the terrorists who attacked us."
With the reelection of our president, I have regained the hope for America that had been wavering during the past two years. The majority of Americans understand the consequences of not fighting islamic-fascism and as a result they reelected President Bush. Now is the time for the leftist ideologues to take Rudy Giuliani’s advice and to join the united front that will defeat our enemy.
