We ALL have to look beyond race in this election.  That means ALL of us.

I received this from a very good friend.  Obama says that we need to pull out of Iraq…leave in defeat as we did after ten years of fighting in Vietnam.  After so many of us who were there lost friends and comrades. 

Here is an apt comparison.  Obama has no understanding of what it means to be in a war.  He only knows what he learned from the leftists running Chicago.  As a result, his actions will destroy our country and our military, just as the actions of Presidents Carter and Clinton did.  Please read and heed.  I do not attest to the accuracy of the numbers.  I do attest to the accuracy of the heartfelt plea for common sense.

I know it is just a political campaign.  I know it is all just a movie, of sorts.  Lots of drama and turmoil.  Soon it will end. 

But this is the part of the movie I always hate…about a third of a way through…when the good guy starts to get his butt kicked by the bad guy…over and over.  No matter what the good guy does, he can’t beat the bad guy.  He starts to give up.  He becomes disconsolate.  Then, in the last twenty minutes or so of most of those movies, things begin to turn around. The good guy finds the strength, the resolve, to stand up and destroy his enemy.

But, in this movie we have a problem.

In this movie, the good guy is not turning things around.  The bad guy is getting stronger. 

How will this movie end?  Unfortunately it is still two weeks until the credits roll.  I have a bad feeling that our good guy is finished.

I hate sad movies.

I read a letter today.  It was in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.  And it was from a friend of mine.  Jim is a Vietnam veteran…a hero.  A man I respect.  But he is also a man who has been swayed by the press and by the liberal government in our little city.  After reading his letter, I wrote to him directly.  Here is what his letter said:

“I ask Rep. Michele Bachmann: ‘Have you no decency?’ This question to Sen. Joe McCarthy in a Senate hearing some time ago captures the offensiveness of your Obama ‘patriotism’ comments. Please stop them.

“I am a decorated Vietnam veteran who grew up with a Republican father and Democrat mother, both of whom taught me to question this kind of inflammatory, divisive rhetoric. Patriots deserve better in this country.”

Here is my response to Jim’s letter:

Dear Jim,

I am writing because I read your letter-to-the-editor in the Strib.  Come on, my friend!

Barrack Obama and his wife have both uttered comments, both in writing and verbally, that demonstrate that they dislike much about America.  Obama has spent more than a little time with a terrorist who tried to kill patriots…Pentagon officials and workers and police officers trying to do their jobs.  He has also spent over 20 years in a racist church with a pastor that has openly stated his hatred of America and its values. 

Obama wants to redistribute the wealth in our country.  He wants to take from me to give to others.  He has demonstrated in so many ways that he fits the definition of Liberal Fascist (please read “Liberal Fascism:  The Secret History of the American Left from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning, Doubleday, 2007).  The book was written by Jonah Goldberg who works for the L.A. Times.  His description of liberal fascism in America is a must-read for every thinking American.

Instead of condemning a person who tries to say the truth, we as patriots need to support those voices.  Bachman didn’t couch her words.  She could have said it better.  BUT, she was right.  The fact that anyone who criticizes Obama is being so soundly demonized says way more about the left and its partners in the press and academia than about those being demonized. 

I agree with you that patriots deserve the best.  We deserve the best leaders possible.  We deserve people who say the truth, even in the face of demonization.  We deserve to learn all that we can about potential leaders.  We deserve to question them on their values and their goals for America.  We deserve to make waves when necessary.  We deserve to know who their friends are and who they respect and who they will bring into their administrations.  While the questioning has been restricted through intimidation, I have my answers.  Obama has failed the test of leadership.

Jim, we should not be following the left in its attempt to stifle questioning.  We should not be limiting the voice of people like you and I who actually DID work to preserve America as the great nation it is…the country we both fought for.

Having said all that, I wish you and your family the very best.

By the way…Bachman did not use the word “patriotism” once in her statement.  That word was only used by the liberal media.  And, Joseph McCarthy has been vilified long enough.  He actually was a hero.  Hopefully, some day, that will become clear to clear thinking Americans.

Put whatever word you want in front of “fascist”.  The result is the same.

They are all part of the same family.  They all want to eradicate our individual rights.  They all want to control all of us.  And, in one way or another, they all want those who disagree with them to die.

And yet, American citizens are standing in line to vote into office a truly fascist president….Barrack Hussein Obama.  Jimmy Carter was a conservative compared to this guy.

We get what we deserve.  Apparently, Americans thinks we deserve this train wreck.

No one will ever take away my right to carry a gun.  No one will ever take away my right to control my private property.  And no one will ever decide for me what the true definition of marriage is.  No one will ever convince me that man-made global warming is not an hallucination of environmental fascist fanatics.  And no one will ever convince me that “if we just talk to terrorists” they will like us and stop trying to kill us. 

In the long run, fascism loses.  In the short term, we are going to face a great deal of conflict, misery, and failure.  Only when we rid the world…once and for all…of fascism, will we be free.  That, unfortunately, is a long time from now.

Andrew Klavan is a novelist and screenwriter whose writings have been turned into such films as "True Crime" and "Don't Say a Word." He knows Hollywood from the inside.  Unlike most of Hollywood’s elite, Klavan doesn’t adhere to the phony “liberal” agenda.

In an article written for the Washington Post and printed in the Minneapolis StarTribune (October 16, 2008), Klavan tells what I view as being the real truth about Hollywood and the “drama queens” that populate that barren cultural desert.

“Hollywood used to be called the Dream Factory, but nowadays it seems to be grinding out as much propaganda as anything else. Next up: Oliver Stone's "W.," which, if the trailer is any indication, will depict our current president's life as an evolution from drunken loser to dangerous idiot.

“For the past 30 years or so, Hollywood storytelling has been guided by a liberal mythos in which, for example, blacklisting communist screenwriters during the '50s was somehow morally worse than fellow-traveling with the Stalinist murderers of tens of millions (‘Trumbo’) or presenting Che Guevara as a dashing, romantic liberator instead of a charismatic killer (‘The Motorcycle Diaries’).

“Hollywood moviemakers have been telling lies -- loudly, constantly and almost always supporting a left-wing point of view. Here are their most egregious whoppers:

“1. Hollywood has no political agenda -- it's just out to make money.

“Throughout 2007, movie after movie deriding U.S. efforts to smack down Islamist terrorism bombed at the box office. (‘Lions for Lambs.’ ‘In the Valley of Elah.’ ‘Redacted.’ ‘Rendition.’) As ace film blogger John Nolte pointed out, only one war-on-terror film, the mediocre ‘Vantage Point,’ did good business. Why? Because it showed Americans as the good guys they are.

“2. Hollywood liberals speak truth to power.

“In a pig's eye. Sure, left-wing filmmakers are fearless when depicting snarling, evil Republican politicos, as in ‘The American President,’ or savage environment-destroying businessmen, as in ‘Michael Clayton,’ or the late Sen. Joseph McCarthy, as in the Edward R. Murrow hagiography ‘Good Night, and Good Luck.’ But those make-believe right-wingers and long-dead senators have no power whatsoever over the filmmakers. The people who do have power are the executives and directors who hire them, the reviewers who bolster their product and the elite opinionmakers who lavish them with prizes and prestige -- and they're all part of the Hollywood left-wing establishment.

“3. Hollywood liberals are liberal.

“Is censorship liberal? Movie ideas that don't toe the liberal line are hampered and censored at every level. I have personal knowledge of ideas that were shot down, drastically rewritten and limited in release simply because their themes were pro-American or pro-military.

“4. Liberals don't exclude conservatives; conservatives just aren't that creative.

“I get this in letters all the time: ‘Why don't you just admit it? Conservatives have no talent!’ But how often have we heard this argument made by those on the inside wanting to keep others out? ‘We're not excluding blacks; they're just not smart enough to manage baseball teams.’ There are a million pro-American, pro-God, pro-family, pro-liberty stories waiting to be told. The door is shut.

“5. Hollywood leftists are patriotic in their own way.

“Making antiwar films while American troops are under fire is not patriotic. Exporting movies that consistently show the United States in a bad light is not patriotic. Ceaselessly casting America and its government as the bad guy is not patriotic. And while I admit that there are many people of good will and patriotism on the left, those who love truth, courage, tolerance and America might be forgiven for wondering whether it isn't time for regime change in Los Angeles.”

While Senator Joseph McCarthy was going after communists in our military and government, the House Committee on un-American Activities was identifying communists operating under cover of Hollywood “artistic” protectionism.  Both the Army McCarty hearings and the House hearings on communist activities were important, relevant, and, for the most part, extremely accurate.  With the constant whining from Hollywood, both committees have been continually demonized.  Senator McCarthy took the brunt of the attacks and wound up alone, addicted, and eventually dead.  Liberals (and many conservatives) today still demonize McCarthy and the entire effort to rid our military, government, and Hollywood of communist forces geared toward the destruction of this country.  That is the power of Hollywood. 

Morons like George Clooney, Susan Sarandon (and her lackey boyfriend, Tim Robbins), and Ed Asner continue to push their so-called “liberal” agenda.  The truth is that the agenda is far from liberal.  Censorship, exclusion, and anti-American propaganda are not part of any real “progressive” agenda.  In fact, these characteristics are much more regressive in nature.  They are part of a liberal fascist agenda that seeks to turn America’s government into a National Socialist government, similar to those of Italy and Germany before and during World War II.  Interestingly, these same morons don’t even realize that if the change they are seeking comes about, they will be the first to be taken out by the fascist leaders they will have helped bring into power.  Thus, the ignorance of Hollywood’s so-called liberals.

Unfortunately, liberal fascists are gaining power.  When Obama is elected as our next president, liberal fascists will hold all the power in this nation.  The rest of us will have to stand tall and become even stronger in our positions and in our actions.  But even with that effort, the year 2009 will go down in history as the beginning of the end of America as we know it.

America lost its last chance tonight for survival.  America lost to a well-funded, smooth-talking liberal fascist.  Even though Hussein Obama said ..."Annnnndddddd" way tooo many times...once again....he won on points based on smoothness...and that is all most Americans care about.  America as we know her is over.  Bye Bye Miss American Pie. 

Just be sure that if you have your carry permit that you keep it in your wallet, that you carry every day, and that you never let the fascists take it away.  Otherwise, the left will destroy all that we have fought for.

According to Regan Kohler of the Washburn County Register (October 10/11, 2008)

 “A year after being arrested for alleged child abuse, Michael E. Stoner Jr. was sentenced to the maximum penalty of imprisonment, for reckless injury to his fiancee’s daughter, on Thursday, Oct. 9, in the Washburn County courthouse….” 

There is a discrepancy in the news reports, but the majority state that Stoner received 7½ years for his heinous crime!

“Stoner, 27, Spooner, has been in custody since last August, after his fiancée Crystal Manning’s then-2-year-old daughter, Emmaline Manning, was taken to a Minnesota hospital for severe brain trauma. Stoner had testified to authorities that he was alone with the child on Aug. 1 when she was injured from a fall down a flight of stairs, though his story later changed to say she fell off an ATV while they were out riding, according to the court.

“The complaint acknowledged conflicting stories given as to the events, and medical staff who attended to the child said in the complaint that the severity of the child’s injuries and nature of some wouldn’t have solely occurred from a fall.

“According to the testimonies from Manning family as of Thursday, Emmaline is still recovering and unable to fully function as a normal 3-year-old, though her mother told the court she is making progress.

“Stoner originally faced three counts: first-degree reckless endangerment, child abuse recklessly causing great harm and resisting or obstructing an officer. The latter charged stemmed from Stoner allegedly fleeing the officers during an attempt to apprehend him.

Stoner reached a plea agreement in late July with his attorney, Jay Heit, instead of being given a jury trial. On July 28, Stoner told St. Croix County Judge Scott Needham, who took over for Washburn County’s judge, that he was withdrawing his original not-guilty plea, and instead agreed to plead to two charges. The charge of child abuse was lowered to second-degree reckless injury, a felony, and Stoner agreed to plead no contest to this and the misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer. Needham then dismissed the charge of first-degree reckless endangerment.

“Thursday afternoon, both the Stoner and Manning families were present. Stoner’s family gave their son hugs and words of support before the trial commenced, and Manning’s family provided audience members with buttons that read, “We’re here for Emma,” with a photo of the now-3-year-old child.

“Needham told the court that a pre-sentence investigation had been completed before the sentencing, and that both Stoner and Emmaline’s families had received letters of support, which the court took into account.”

There is little else to say about this case.  I said from the beginning that if Stoner should receive a fair trial and that if he was innocent he should be acquitted.  He was found guilty and he got a relatively light sentence.  I would have given him life for destroying the life of this child.  But, he will be in prison for a few years.  At least during that time he will not be able to hurt any other children.  Maybe there is still some justice left in this world.  I hope you will look at his photo on the right.  That is the face of a child abuser.

The Presidential debate was a typical network piece of garbage.  The questions were supposedly selected from the audience but the audience was made up of a small number of people while a thousand more sat in the background, out of sight.  The questions focused on some of the serious issues including the economy and foreign policy but avoided other significant issues including the association and working relationship of Obama with radical leftists, abortion, same-sex marriage, and Second Amendment rights.  Tom Brokaw attempted to appear neutral, but failed. 

For the Oblivions of the world, it is clear that Senator Obama won the debate.  Senator McCain is not as smooth a speaker.  He has physical issues that make him appear more rigid.  So the average Oblivion will hand this debate to Obama.

In reality, McCain won. 

Here is the second part of the bad news.  Both candidates are talking about even more nationalism in America.  Senator McCain presented a new proposal to nationalize the mortgage debt of Americans with mortgages higher than the value of their homes.  And both candidates are proposing ideals that would eventually increase taxes on most of us.  Damn!

No matter who wins this election, America is doomed to move toward greater and greater socialism.
