On November 16th, I wrote that the left was well on the way toward its plan to change America into a very different country…a country very similar to Nazi Germany as it moved toward World War II.  I outlined the steps leading toward that goal in my previous post.  They are:

  1. Gain control of the educational system to ensure that students think the “correct” thoughts.
  2. Create individual dependency on government by promoting “victimhood” as a mindset.
  3. Gradually etch away at individual rights, focusing on the collective.
  4. Take control of the media, first through infiltration by leftist journalists and then through government fiat (e.g., the fairness doctrine).
  5. Gradually redefine the Bill of Rights, eliminating Amendments that would allow Americans to defend (Second Amendment) and express (First Amendment) themselves.
  6. Create corporate dependency on government.
  7. Nationalize businesses that have become dependent on government.
  8. Develop a national “citizens security force” which, if needed, can serve as a tool for the left in maintaining power.

To elaborate:

  1. The educational system is already under the control of the left.  Students are no longer taught the basics.  Much of the time spent in class is focused on “politically correct” topics like gay rights, diversity, non-violence, “white privilege”, and anti-American (blame America first) topics.  This, by the way, applies to elementary, secondary, and “higher” education.

  1. Victimhood is already the “mantra” of the left.  Whenever leftist politicians loose an election, they cry that they have been victimized.  Whenever a person ends up in tough times, the left cries that he or she has beee4n victimized by the right.  And whenever country in the world faces poverty, the left cries that their people have been victimized by America, despite the failings of the leaders of whatever particular country they have focused on.

  1. I have already elaborated in great detail on the theft of individual rights at the hands of the left.  Just use the search engine at the left and key in “loss of individual rights”.  The left etches away little by little at our personal freedoms.  Most don’t notice the losses until they mount up to a point that we can no longer regain them.

  1. The left already admits that the “mainstream” media is under its control (see November 8 commentary).  Under our next president, the “fairness doctrine” will cement left control of the media.

  1. President-Elect Obama has already restricted the First Amendment right of free speech when he stated that he would not grant additional interviews with a particular Florida television station because he didn’t like the challenging (and very appropriate) questions of a reporter.  That is just the beginning.  The next step will be the elimination of the Second Amendment.  The following comes from the National Rifle Association (of which I am a member).

Obama appointed Illinois Congressman Rahm Emanuel to be White House Chief of Staff. While working in the Clinton Administration, he was known as the "point man on gun control." He is an avowed enemy of the Second Amendment and will wield enormous power in the battle for the future of our firearm freedoms.

He nominated Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State,  If elected she'll rip the Second Amendment right out of the Bill of Rights. She'll be our nation's top diplomat with the power to determine whether the United Nations will pass, and Obama will sign, a global gun ban treaty that will surrender our Second Amendment rights and our national sovereignty.

Obama nominated ex-Senator and former Majority Leader Tom Daschle-an avowed enemy of individual gun rights-to be Secretary of Health and Human Services. If Daschle is confirmed, he could hold the ultimate power to declare guns a "public health menace" and regulate away our essential liberties.

He nominated Eric Holder to be Attorney General. As former Assistant Attorney General, Holder was a key architect and vocal advocate for the Clinton era's sweeping gun ban agenda. He supported national handgun licensing, mandatory trigger locks, and ending gun shows as we know them. Just recently, Holder opposed the District of Columbia's Heller decision that declared the Second Amendment an individual right. Holder also called for reviving the Clinton gun bans and, as Attorney General, would fight in court to prevent the landmark Heller decision from being made applicable to state and local governments. Worst of all, if Holder is confirmed as the nation's top law-enforcement officer, he would control BATFE and wield enormous power to harass gun owners and sue America's arms makers out of existence.

In the job application for the Obama Administration, he made it clear that gun owners are second-class citizens and told 80 million gun owners not to even bother applying for a job. In the "White House Personnel Data Questionnaire" he asked:

"Do you or any members of your immediate family own a gun? If so, provide complete ownership and registration information. Has the registration ever lapsed? Please also describe how and by whom it is used and whether it has been the cause of any personal injuries or property damage.”

President-Elect Obama will be responsible for upholding the Constitution of the United States.  Based on his actions to date and based on his questioning potential employees, he is not a man who will defend our Constitution.  He is a man who will do everything possible to eliminate the Second Amendment.

  1. Through legislation, regulation, and litigation, much of American business is already dependent on government.

  1. During the past few months, government has done everything possible to nationalize our financial and manufacturing industries.  The frightening thing is that, due to our greed, no one seems to care.

  1. To date, the only thing missing from the list is the establishment of a national security force (like the Brown Shirts of pre-war Germany) to defend left in its effort to destroy America.  We won’t have to wait too long for that one.

It is a sad time for America.  I can only hope that…I am not sure what I hope for.  I have little optimism today.  I just hope I am wrong.
