Why would the President of the United States promote fear…a sense of crisis and doom?  A leader is supposed to promote a sense of hope. But President Obama focuses on the doom that he believes we are facing.

Why?

Charles Krauthammer (Minneapolis Star Tribune, 3/9/09) reminds us of the following:

“‘You never want a serious crisis to go to waste’ said (Obama’s) Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.  ‘This crisis provides the opportunity for us to do things that you could not do before’.”

As Krauthammer notes “Obama sees the continuing financial crisis as usefully creating the psychological conditions---the sense of crisis bordering on fear-itself panic---for enacting his ‘Big Bang’ agenda to federalize and/or socialize health care, education and energy, the commanding heights of post-industrial society.”

Krauthammer goes on to note that “Health, education, and energy are not the cause of our financial collapse.  And they are not the cure.”

Amen. 

As long as President Obama keeps the American public in panic mode, he believes that he can enact the liberal fascist agenda that he and his cohorts want.  The faster he does this, the more he can get done before real Americans begin to understand the con.

Let’s step up now and tell our President that we already know we are being conned.
