In some ways I yearn for the return of the 1950's. Not because after the end of the Korean War the 50's were primarily a period of restoration and generally inconsequential. I yearn for that decade because it was a time when communists and socialists in Hollywood, the media, and government were identified and consequenced. Hollywood communists were rightfully blackballed. Media figures prone to socialism and communism often lost jobs. Communists in government were often imprisoned. During the first decade of the 21st Century, communists and socialists in Hollywood are praised for their "involvement in politics". Media communists and socialists continue to spew forth hateful propaganda against our nation and our president. Socialists in our government are frequently reelected. Oh, for the good old days.
